Which parks are legally open? Request for an itemized open/closed list
Residents are confused — gates have been opened by the public, and some people unknowingly used closed areas. A board member asked for a published, itemized list of every park asset showing its legal open/closed status and why.
Park and open space dedication standards revision
Current multifamily open space rules are confusing and arguably don't work — the credit for being near a park can't even be calculated as written. The commission floated a 20-unit threshold, requiring usable common space, and possibly letting developers pay for park amenities nearby instead. Discussion continues at a future meeting.
Parks System Master Plan adoption
The commission got its first look at the parks plan and pushed back hard on costs, stale data, and missing basics like sidewalks and basketball courts. Public hearing comes next month.
